Dr. Illig was the chair of the Society for Vascular Surgery’s Reporting Standards Committee on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (and editor of two editions of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, published by Springer). Although he no longer treats this condition in the general population, patients with arteriovenous access have a form of venous TOS, treatment of which we have the highest volume in the world:
